The week leading up to it did not show encouraging signs that it was going to be a great birthday, but it worked out quite well in the end. I had a lot of work to do, and I went in to the office early yesterday morning to try and avoid having to stay late to finish my work. As it turned out, I stayed late anyway. Colleagues kept telling me to go home since it was my birthday! But friends that I was supposed to meet for dinner couldn't make it right after work. I didn't mind, anyway. There was enough work to keep me occupied...
We ended up at a new-ish place in Bangsar Shopping Centre called WIP - not "Wery Important People", but "Work in Progress". Apparently the owners decided to open up for business to get input on what customers thought about the interior, before completing it later this year. If you ask me, it was perfectly fine the way it was. It was so unique!
I had dinner with Stevo and Suddy from IH, and Kelly, a friend from squash. Despite having never met the guys before, I think Kel quite enjoyed their company. We had some pretty interesting conversation, and the food was quite good, if not on the slightly pricey side. It was definitely quite a popular place - we turned up at about 8 without reservations, and it was fully packed. About 45 mins, a walk about BSC, and a couple of temporary tables later, we were finally able to sit down and think about ordering some food.
I got not one, but 2(!) calls from Ben *yippee* Also a slice of chocolate brownie and a slice of cheesecake from 2 very sweet workmates. I was very touch-ed. I also bought myself 2 music CD's. So all in all, I think it was a good day. Thanks to everyone who made it so enjoyable!

Happy belated birthday! *hugs* Glad to hear you had a nice dinner and all those yummy cakes :)
you should probably feel mildly offended when people tell you that you're a half century... ;)
happy birsday.
